Start time: 21:10

Start Location: Panathenaic Stadium. Runners will be placed in different starting blocks. Admission to the blocks will close at 21:00.
Finish Location: Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC)

Participation Fee: €5 minimum, fully donated to selected non-profit organizations. Participants may donate more if they wish.

Eligibility: Adults and children over the age of 12 are eligible to participate in the 5 km race upon presentation of a statement of consent from a parent or guardian.

Race Pack: All registered participants receive a bib number (showing their block), a transparent bag, and a commemorative race t-shirt.

Electronic Timing: Although non-competitive, the 5 km race will be timed.

Runner Arrival: Runners must be present at the start area at least (50′) minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Entry to the blocks will only be permitted for runners with bibs at 20:50. Runners must be in the designated start block 10 minutes prior to the start, i.e. by 21:00.

Please respect assigned blocks for safety and smooth operation.

Route: The race will start from the forecourt of the Panathenaic Stadium. The route will proceed uphill along Vasileos Konstantinou Avenue up to Eratosthenous Street. Runners will then make a U-turn heading toward the National Garden. The course continues with a right turn onto Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, followed by a left turn onto Vasilissis Amalias Avenue in the uphill direction. The route then turns right onto Syngrou Avenue, continuing toward the coastal front, followed by a right turn onto Lysikratous Street, where runners enter the service road of Syngrou Avenue, and finally a left turn onto Evripidou Street, leading to the finish line inside the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

In order to best serve the runners, the race package must be picked up in person at the Event Pavilion which will be located in the forecourt of the Panathenaic Stadium.

Runners will be able to collect their race kit from June 18 to June 22, 2026:

  • Thursday, June 18 | 14:00 – 21:00
  • Friday, June 19 | 14:00 – 21:00
  • Saturday, June 20 | 14:00 – 21:00
  • Sunday, June 21 | 14:00 – 21:00
  • Monday, June 22 | 14:00 – 21:00

For faster service, please present the email with your bib number, either printed or in electronic form.

The bib number is your proof to be allowed entry at the race start on June 23nd. Under no other circumstance will entry to the start be permitted.

On race day (June 23nd), it will not be possible to pick up the race pack. Please collect your race package in time to receive the desired size for the competition t-shirt, otherwise you will receive the next closest size.

If you wish to check in personal items prior to the race, please bring those items in the SNF Nostos Run official clear bag provided during your bib/materials pick up. Please attach the sticker provided with your bib number to the bag and give it to bag check, located near the race start,by 20:20. Please note that only SNF Nostos Run clear bags will be accepted. No other bags will be allowed inside the stadium for the start. You may retrieve the bag with your personal belongings at a designated area after crossing the finish line. Race officials will direct you to the pickup location, and you may claim your personal belongings by showing your race bib number.

Along the route, there will be two support stations for participants: at 4.1 km (on Mikri Leoforos Poseidonos, near Pindos) and at 6.2 km (also on Mikri Leoforos Poseidonos). Bottled water will be provided to runners at the start, at the finish, and at the intermediate support stations.

The races will conclude by 22:30, including any delayed starts. During this time frame, and under the supervision of the Hellenic Police, traffic on the race route will be completely stopped. After this time limit, participants will be responsible for their own safety and must move on the sidewalks.

Each runner’s race number must always be visible: when entering and inside the starting blocks, during the race, and at the finish line at the SNFCC. Services will only be provided to runners who clearly display their race number.

Full medical support is provided during the race by the 1st Orthopedic Surgery Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) for first aid.

In any case, all participants race at their own responsibility according to the Terms of Participation. Participants are advised to undergo medical examinations before the race to ensure good physical condition.

  • Consult your doctor if you have any health issues.
  • Show sportsmanship at all times.
  • Respect and follow the instructions of the organizers.
  • Don’t forget to warm up before starting your race.
  • Have your last meal at least two hours before the race.
  • Stay well hydrated before and during the race.
  • Arrive on time at the Starting Line.
  • Follow your own pace and don’t get carried away by the pace of other runners.
  • Do not throw bottles or any trash at the start, along the route, or at the finish line. Use the trash bins provided.
  • Avoid using blasphemous, offensive, annoying, or otherwise inappropriate language.
  • Pets are not allowed to run alongside the runners.
  • You may enjoy the race with your young child in a stroller.
  • The use of headphones is not permitted during the race.
  • There is no transportation provided to or from the SNFCC for the race. You must arrange your own transport or use public transport.
  • Friends and relatives are not allowed to cross the Finish Line or enter the track with the participating runners. This policy ensures each runner has enough time to celebrate their achievement without disturbing other runners finishing or compromising the safety of runners, volunteers, and spectators.
  • The safety of runners and spectators is a top priority for the event organizers. We work closely with the Hellenic Police, Traffic Police Directorate, Fire Department, National Emergency Center (EKAB), and the 1st Orthopedic Surgical Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) to ensure the safety of all our events.

  • To ensure the safety of all participants in the SNF Nostos Run, spectators, and staff, we provide a list of prohibited items for all athletic events held at the SNFCC premises. For everyone’s protection, preventive visual inspections of personal belongings will be conducted.

    Specifically:

    • The possession and use of alcohol and illegal items or substances, such as weapons, sharp objects, fireworks, etc., are prohibited.
    • Glass containers are not allowed.
    • Only the bags provided by the organization are permitted; no other bags are allowed.
    • Costumes that cover the face and any bulky clothing extending beyond the body’s perimeter are not allowed.
    • Visitors must comply with the instructions of both the security personnel and the organizational staff.
