SNF NOSTOS RUN 2026

For adults and children (over 12 years old for the 6 km race & 15 years old for the 10 km race)
When does the race take place?

The SNF Nostos Run 2026 will take place as part of SNF Nostos in June 2026 in Athens, offering a unique nighttime running experience in the city.

What are the race distances?

The races that will take place are:
• 6 km road race
• 10 km road race
• 1 km Special Olympics race

Where are the start and finish points?

The start of the 6 km and 10 km races is located in the square in front of the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro). The finish line for all races is at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

What are the start times?

The race start times are:
• 20:50 – 10 km race
• 20:50 – 1 km Special Olympics race
• 21:10 – 6 km race

What are the age limits for participation?

Athletes aged 12 and above can participate in the 6 km race.
Athletes aged 15 and above can participate in the 10 km race.

Do I need a medical certificate to participate?

No medical certificate is required, and participants run at their own risk. However, it is recommended that all participants undergo a recent medical check-up before participating.

Is the race competitive?

The race is non-competitive, however there will be electronic timing and official rankings.

How can I register for the race?

Registrations are completed through the official event website.

Until when can I register?

Registrations will remain open until June 4 or until the maximum number of participants is reached.

Can I transfer my registration to another runner?

No. For safety and identification reasons, transferring race entries is not allowed.

Where can I pick up my race bib?

The race kit can be collected from the event’s secretariat at the square of the Panathenaic Stadium, near the start area.

What are the secretariat’s operating hours?

The secretariat will operate on the following dates and times:
June 18 – 22, 2026 | 14:00 – 21:00

Can someone else pick up my race kit?

Yes, provided they have your registration confirmation email (participant) and a copy of their ID (collector).

What time should I be at the start area?

Runners are advised to be at the start area at least 50 minutes before their race begins.

How can I get to the Panathenaic Stadium?

Access is possible via public transportation (Syntagma or Evangelismos Metro stations), buses, or taxi.

Can I leave my bag with personal belongings and collect it at the finish?

You may leave personal belongings by placing them in the bag you received with your race kit. The race number must be clearly visible on the bag using the sticker provided.

Until what time can I drop off my bag?

The designated vehicles that will transport participants’ personal belongings from the start to SNFCC will depart at 20:20 for both races (6 km & 10 km). Please make sure to hand in your belongings on time.

Is the route closed to traffic?

Yes. The roads along the route will be fully closed to vehicle traffic for the safety of participants.

Will there be hydration stations?

Hydration stations are listed in the official Athlete’s Guide of the event.

Is the route well lit?

Yes. The race takes place in an urban environment with sufficient lighting and volunteers present throughout the route.

Can I run with headphones?

The use of headphones is not recommended for safety reasons.

Can I run with a pet?

No, for safety and the smooth flow of the event.

Can I run with a stroller (and child)?

Yes, you may run while pushing a stroller with a child.

Will I receive a finisher medal?

All participants who finish within the time limit will receive a commemorative medal.

Will there be race photos?

Yes. Photos will be published on the official event website 2 days after the race.

Where can I see the results?

Results will be posted on the official race website.

What should I eat before the race?

A light meal 2–3 hours before the start is recommended, rich in carbohydrates and low in fat.

Should I drink water before the race?

Yes. Proper hydration before the start is important. It is recommended to drink water gradually throughout the day.

Should I warm up before the race?

Yes. A light 10–15 minute warm-up helps the body adjust to the intensity of the race.

Will there be volunteers along the route?

Yes. Volunteers will be present at key points to support runners and ensure the safety of the event.

When will the results be announced?

Results will be published on the official event website after the completion of the race.

Where can spectators watch the race?

Spectators can watch the start at the Panathenaic Stadium, at any point along the route, and of course at the finish line at SNFCC.

Can spectators enter the race route?

No. For safety and fair play reasons, spectators are not allowed on the race route.

I did not receive the confirmation email. What should I do?

After checking your spam/junk and promotions folders, search for “SNF Nostos Run.” If you still cannot find it, try registering again and make sure your email address is correct.

My donation/payment was not completed. Am I registered?

If the payment was not completed, then your registration has not been recorded.
Go back to the registration link and complete it again—pay close attention to your card details. If you are unsure:

  • Open your bank/card app

  • If there is no charge, there is no registration

  • If there is a charge but you have not received a confirmation email, contact: snfrun@randp.gr

I accidentally registered twice. What happens now?

Don’t worry—this happens often.

  • Only one runner number/bib will be created for you

  • The extra amount will simply be added to the total donation amount

  • If needed, data can be merged after the event by contacting us

I made a mistake in my details (name, phone, size). Can I change them?

Minor errors do not affect your participation. Size can be adjusted during race kit collection (subject to availability). If there is a significant error (e.g., age), it can also be corrected when you collect your race kit.

Can I cancel my registration or get a refund?

Registrations cannot be canceled and refunds are not available, as participation is linked to a charitable donation.

Can I transfer my runner number/bib to someone else?

No. For safety and runner identification reasons, bib transfers are not allowed.

I have not yet received the email with my runner number (bib). Is there a problem?

No, this is completely normal. Bib emails are sent a few days before the race, after registrations close. Not receiving it immediately does not indicate a problem.

I paid, but something doesn’t seem right. What should I do?

Such issues are usually resolved within a few minutes. If after one hour you still have concerns, you can use the contact form and include your registration email so we can locate your record more quickly.

I clicked on the registration link and it says “Registrations are closed.” Why?

This means that:

  • either the maximum number of participants has been reached,

  • or the official registration deadline has passed.

In this case, late registration is not possible.

Is the race suitable for wheelchair users?

Yes, the route is flat and fully accessible, though some areas may be crowded.
If you need additional support or guidance, you can let us know in advance.

I am a person with a disability and need my companion to enter with me. Is that allowed?

Yes, companions may enter the same block without any issue.
If you wish, we can place you in the first block for easier access.

What facilities are provided for people with disabilities who want to take part?

SNFCC has been designed and operates in such a way in such a way as to be fully accessible to people with disabilities, faithful to its commitment to be open to all.

You can contact the organizers through the contact form on the official event website.

Will there be medical support?

Yes. Medical staff and ambulances will be stationed at key points along the route, as well as at the start and finish.

What happens in case of bad weather?

In case of severe weather conditions such as heavy storms or lightning, the organizers reserve the right to delay the start, modify the route, or cancel the race for safety reasons.

Can a minor come with an adult who is not a parent?

Yes, as long as the accompanying adult has signed consent from the parent/guardian.

What items are not allowed?

For everyone’s safety, the following are not permitted:

  • sharp objects, weapons, illegal substances,

  • fireworks,

  • glass bottles,

  • masks/costumes that cover the face or bulky costumes,

  • any bag other than the official transparent bag of the event.
